CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION VIRTUAL PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING
State Project No. 0123-0067, Replacement of Bridge No. 04770 and 04771, Brook Road #2 Over Merrick Brook Scotland, CT
DECEMBER 12, 2024, 7:00 p.m.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community with an opportunity to learn about the proposed project and allow an open discussion of any views and comments concerning the proposed improvements. A Q&A session will immediately follow the presentation.
The purpose of this project is to address the failure of Bridge No. 04770 and 04771 and open Brook Road #2 to vehicular traffic by designing a replacement structure that meets all current design standards.
There are right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements. These impacts are on private, town, and state property and will consist of temporary construction easements for access, grading, and water handling, as well as a partial take for replacement of existing structures.
Construction is anticipated to begin Spring 2027 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $5.6 million with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
