Hampton Regional Housing Rehabilitation Program

The program provides interest-free loans and grants to income-eligible property owners within the participating towns in order to make repairs to their properties they could not otherwise afford. Grants are provided to cover the cost of lead-paint hazard removal. Deferred payment loans are provided for all other repairs. These 0% interest loans require no repayment until the property is sold. In addition to financial assistance, the program provides technical assistance by completing home inspections, writing up work specifications, qualifying contractors, bidding the project out to qualified contractors and supervising work in process to ensure that all repairs are made in accordance with the work specifications and in compliance with all applicable state and local health and building codes.
