The Huntington Homestead, a National Historic Landmark, is the birthplace of Samuel Huntington, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and a distinguished statesman during the Revolutionary War and early Republic. The remarkably well-preserved site includes the circa 1723 homestead on its original foundation surrounded by acres of farmland, bordered by Merrick Brook and CT Rte 14,also known as the Washington Rochambeau Revolutionary Route, a federally designated National Historic Trail.http://huntingtonhomestead.org/
