Effective July 1, 2021, animal control services for Scotland will be provided by the Northeast Connecticut Council of Governments. NECCOG has no-kill shelter facilities in Norwich and Dayville, and a full-time staff of animal control officers available 24/7. They will respond to complaints and emergencies involving domestic animals, large and small. NECCOG also provides adoption services for abandoned pets. For details, or to request services, call 860 774 1253, or go to the NECCOG animal control
website.
This is a new program for Scotland. It costs roughly $5000/year. To evaluate its effectiveness, the Board of Selectmen would like to hear about your experiences with NECCOG. Please email us at firstselectman@scotlandct.org or call 860 456 7797 during Town Hall hours to let us know how the service is working for you.
