Later this week, you will receive a recorded phone message from me announcing a service called CodeRed. CodeRed is a town-wide alert system that will notify you about routine and emergency events in the community. This system will help you stay up-to-date about meetings and other civic events, and will keep you informed about road closures, power outages, and other emergencies.
In order to receive Code Red notifications, you have to sign up. It’s easy enough. Just go to the link on the homepage of our
website, or text SCOTLANDALERTS to 99411 and follow the instructions. You will be asked to specify how you want to be alerted—email, text, voice. You can sign up for all three, and for more than one phone number or email address. For each address or number, you can specify whether you want all notifications or only routine (meetings, town events) or emergency (road closures, fires) alerts. Your privacy is protected; OnSolve will not sell the information, and the town will keep it confidential as we already do with our 911 list and other private information.
If you experience problems with signup or have questions, please call Town Hall at 860 456 7797 x1 or email Wendy O’Connor at administrativeassistant@scotlandct.org or me at firstselectman@scotlandct.org
